To celebrate the Diamond Jubilee and summer, the National Trust at Hughendon Manor have hung a 10 x 10m banner of a photo mosaic of HRH the Queen, in what is being called the ‘banner on the manor’.

The National Trust had asked visitors throughout May and June to submit images themed ‘what I like about my local area’, the submitted images came from all around the Chilterns from individuals and schools, around a 1000 images were submitted.

We were delighted that the team at Hughendon selected Melon to create the graphic design mosaic for the banner. The final montage artwork consists of 10,000 individual square images 10 x 10cm made up all of the images submitted to the National Trust.

The image of the Queen used in the mosaic is from Hughendon’s collection at the time of her coronation. The banner has been mounted on scaffolding at the east wall of the manor, it will be displayed until October the 1st.

The manor is the historic home of the Prime Benjamin Disraeli, Queen Victoria’s favourite Prime Minister, set in beautiful woodland with a formal garden it is a great day out.
