Leading edge platform provider IMS Evolve has developed a strategic monitoring and maintenance partnership with Tesco, which delivers invaluable data, automation and control of all aspects of the machine network throughout the Tesco network of stores. We were delighted to be presented with the challenge of redeveloping the User Interfaces and content displayed on the wall mounted touch screen interfaces (EDUs) in all Tesco staff areas.

How we helped

The volume of useful data harvested from a wide range of machine types, such as Refrigeration, HVAC, Bakery and Lighting offered the opportunity of providing real-time and comparable feedback to Tesco staff. In addition the network connected EDUs enabled us to gather feedback and reporting directly from the staff ‘on the ground’. With the ability to deliver any specific live or historical data and gain feedback and input the opportunity to affect change across all aspects of Energy Management within Tesco stores was without limits.

During initial brainstorming sessions with IMS Evolve we conceived the idea of using a robotic character to deliver the complicated data in a simple, meaningful way, using plain English from a trusted figurehead. The concept grew, with various ideas of how information could be communicated via simple mechanisms within the virtual world based around our robot hero.

The Result

After a successful initial launch which saw engagement levels increase dramatically and measured interactions grow by over 300% it was requested that we leverage the opportunity further by adding increased level of data intelligence and user orientated reporting tools.

We were successfully able to simplify complex reporting tools and machine management controls and make every day tasks for in-store technicians and department managers faster, easier and more effective than ever before.
